Pat Markovich and the Silverado Land Company purchased the property in May 1953 and Silverado Country Club was born. Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Silverado Squatters" novel was Pat Markovich's inspiration for naming the property "Silverado." Markovich's vision for the property was more than just a golf course; a way of life.
